Soon after you qualify at MEPS your recruiter will scheule an appointment to meet with you to select a job and to take the oath of enlistment which is a vow to defend the Constitution and obey the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Please note, you WILL NOT swear in or select a job at MEPS. Following the oath you will be a member of the Air Force Reserve and assigned to the Development and Training Flight commonly referred to as the DEP until you depart for basic training. Your confirmed training dates will be available on enlistment day or soon after. This will give you ample time to make arrangements and inform employers as needed.
